WRPR 1004 Exploring the Far Reaches of Contemporary Creative Nonfiction (CW)
As twenty-first century writers capturing our experience of place and time, we face a smorgasbord of media choices, forms and audiences, both traditional and emerging. In this workshop-style course for students interested in creative nonfiction, we will explore these options through a range of creative exercises, presentations, and short papers. We will study two anthologies, The Next American Essay and In Short, A Collection of Brief Creative Nonfiction, and online multimedia sources as we also examine and engage in blogging, hypertext, podcasts, and/or multimedia storytelling. The workshop will culminate with the publication of a class-designed ‘zine. (Students who have taken FYSE 1223 are not eligible to register for this course) ART LIT NOR (B. Ganley)
